Fifa Foundation, Obhizatrik to provide free football training to 1,100 children
The programme was officially launched today.
Fifa Foundation, in partnership with Obhizatrik Foundation, will provide free football training and holistic development support to around 1,100 underprivileged children and adolescents under the second year of the Playing for Peace: FIFA Foundation Community Programme 2025-26.
The programme was officially launched today (5 August) with an inauguration ceremony and a friendly football match at the Gulshan Youth Club Football Turf in Dhaka.
Assistant Private Secretary-2 (APS-2) to Prime Minister Abdur Rahman Sunny attended the event as the chief guest, while Obhizatrik Foundation President Ahmed Imtiaz Jami delivered the welcome speech.

The initiative will benefit about 1,000 underprivileged children aged 10 to 18 from Mirpur, including 600 boys and 400 girls, along with 50 children and adolescents with intellectual disabilities.
As the first Bangladeshi non-profit organisation selected as an official partner of the Fifa Foundation Community Programme, Obhizatrik Foundation is using football as a platform to promote youth development, leadership, social inclusion and peacebuilding.
The second year of the programme includes 56 football training sessions, four quarterly tournaments, 22 specialised sessions for children with intellectual disabilities, 24 life skills sessions, 24 educational workshops, 32 digital classroom sessions, psychosocial counselling and community-based activities.
Speaking at the launch, Jami said the partnership marked a milestone in using sport to empower young people and promote inclusion in Bangladesh.
Sunny urged financially capable individuals to sponsor at least one underprivileged child through the foundation, saying a monthly contribution of Tk1,500 can help provide education, learning materials, healthcare and nutritional support.
Bangladesh Football Federation Vice-President Fahad Karim and Gulshan Youth Club President Wahiduzzaman Tamal were also present at the event.
The programme concluded with a friendly football match, after which the champion team received the winners' trophy and all participants were awarded medals.
