Mahmudullah XI almost bowed out of the tournament when Tamim XI were batting needing to chase down 164 from curtailed 41- overs in the last group stage match against Najmul XI. A win for Tamim XI in that match would mean Mahmudullah XI being eliminated from the tournament. But Tamim XI did bottle and paved the way for Mahmudullah XI to enter into the final and eventually winning it against their bitter opponent to whom they lost twice in the group stage.
Mahmudullah XI, from almost bowing out from the tournament to winning it comprehensively in the end. Who would have imagined that? But such is the game of cricket, the great leveler. It makes you a hero from zero within no time.

Mahmudullah XI became the champions of the BCB President's Cup by beating Najmul XI by 7 wickets in the final. They chased down the target of 174 runs in 29.4  overs, thanks to Litton Kumer Das and Imrul Kayes who made the target easier for them.

Litton saved his best for the final
Litton had a terrible tournament, until today's final. He bagged a total of 43 runs from his 4 innings in the group stage. He chose the final as his stage to show his class. He scored a blistering 68 off 69 deliveries with 10 classic boundaries all over the ground.
174 could be a little tricky target on this surface, but Litton, accompanied by Imrul Kayes made it look easy. These two made a partnership of 63 runs after Litton and Mahmudul Hasan Joy had a 48-run partnership to make the chase smooth. Imrul Kayes remained unbeaten on 53 off 55 balls where he hit only one boundary and 6-sixes.
Skipper Mahmudullah Riyad came in to bat after Litton went back to the pavilion and scored a quick-fire 23 off 11 balls with three boundaries and one maximum.
Bowlers looked helpless in front of the batting the trio showed, and finally, it looked like a good pitch to bat on. Alas, this was the end of the tournament!
