Measles death toll reaches 797 as 4 more children die in 24 hours
Since 15 March, a total of 1,02,244 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalised nationwide.
Four more children died from measles-like symptoms in 24 hours until 8am today (21 July), bringing Bangladesh's combined tally of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths to 797.
With the latest update, the number of suspected measles deaths has risen to 702 while the number of laboratory-confirmed measles deaths has reached 95.
A total of 878 new suspected measles cases were reported during the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number of suspected cases nationwide to 119448.
Meanwhile, 130 new confirmed measles cases were recorded, bringing the total number of laboratory-confirmed infections to 14,708.
Since 15 March, a total of 102,244 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalised across the country, of whom 98,411 have recovered, according to DGHS data.
