Dengue: Record 1,558 hospitalised in 24 hours, death toll reaches 117
Four more patients died from dengue in the last 24 hours.
Bangladesh recorded a new daily high of 1,558 dengue hospitalisations in the last 24 hours, while four more patients died, taking the country's dengue death toll to 117 this year.
The latest figures were released today (6 September) by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The 1,558 new admissions surpassed the previous daily high of 1,324 recorded on 2 September.

Of the four deaths reported in the latest 24-hour period, one was recorded in Dhaka Division outside the city corporation areas, while three were from Dhaka South City Corporation.
During the same period, 1,300 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the total number of recoveries this year to 39,479.
The cumulative number of dengue cases reported across the country has now reached 42,590, according to the DGHS.
