EBL signs ESF agreement with ICB

Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) and Eastern Bank Limited (EBL) jointly launched an Entrepreneurship Support Fund (ESF).

Md Refat Hasan, the general manager at the ICB and Ahmed Shaheen, the deputy managing director at the Eastern Bank Limited (EBL) signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations in Dhaka recently.

ESF has been formed by the government to boost socio-economic development and create job opportunities through investing in food, agriculture and ICT- based projects. The ESF agreement will now enable the eligible EBL customers to apply for loans for these types of projects.

Shukla Das and Md Al Amin Talukder, the deputy general managers at the ICB along with Md Obaidul Islam, the head of international business and offshore banking, and Iftikhar Imam, the head of inbound business and China desk, of EBL, among others, were present at the agreement signing ceremony.
