Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, MetLife Foundation announce 200 mobile book fairs
Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, with support from MetLife Foundation, is organising 200 mobile book fairs across Bangladesh until 2027.
The initiative aims to promote reading habits and cultural engagement among communities nationwide.
Organised by Bishwo Shahitto Kendro and funded by MetLife Foundation, the mobile book fairs will travel to different districts, offering visitors the opportunity to explore and purchase books.
Visitors will also be able to participate in a range of cultural programmes designed to inspire a love for literature and learning.
Bishwo Shahitto Kendro Founder and Chairman Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed said, "A nation's true progress is rooted in its love for books. By carrying a rich and diverse selection of quality books directly to people's doorsteps, mobile book fairs make reading more accessible, nurturing a vibrant culture of curiosity, reflection and critical thinking."
MetLife Bangladesh CEO Ala Ahmad said, "MetLife Foundation is actively contributing to Bangladesh's socioeconomic growth, and we are delighted to partner with Bishwo Shahitto Kendro once again to bring books and cultural experiences to communities across the country."
This year marks the second consecutive year of partnership between the two organisations.
In 2025, MetLife Foundation supported more than 128 mobile book fairs, which attracted over 200,000 visitors.
