Glow & Lovely partners Bangladesh women’s football team
Women's football in Bangladesh marked the beginning of a new chapter today as Glow & Lovely joined hands with the Bangladesh Football Federation as the official Training and Growth Partner of the women's national football team.
The partnership was formally announced at a signing ceremony held at Radisson Blu Dhaka, where representatives from the Bangladesh Football Federation, senior officials from Unilever Bangladesh, and members of the women's national team, including Umehla Marma, Afeida Khandaker Pranti and Yearzan Begum, were present.
Under the agreement, Glow & Lovely, one of the country's leading skincare brands, will be associated with the training and growth journey of the Bangladesh women's national football team for the next two years.
The partnership will facilitate personal development training for the stars of the women's national team.
Glow & Lovely's commitment to women's advancement has long been at the core of the brand.
Through various initiatives across both urban and rural communities, the brand has consistently worked to create opportunities for women, enabling many young individuals to pursue careers and entrepreneurship.
The brand believes in empowering women to build their own identity and move forward with confidence.
The partnership with the national women's football team is a natural extension of that belief.
As part of the partnership, the Glow & Lovely logo will be featured on official practice and training-related team assets, including training kits and selected BFF-controlled communication platforms.
The recent progress of the Bangladesh women's national football team has captured the attention of the nation.
By winning the SAFF Women's Championship consecutively in 2022 and 2024, and securing qualification for the AFC Women's Asian Cup 2026 through the qualifiers, the team has firmly established its talent on the international stage.
The organisers expressed hope that this momentum and success would continue in the years ahead.
Speaking on the partnership, Unilever Bangladesh Limited Beauty and Wellbeing Head Zaheen Islam said, "Glow & Lovely has long been committed to empowering women through growth and development initiatives. Continuing that journey, we are proud to support the team as their Training and Growth Partner for the next two years."
"We believe these footballers will inspire women across the country to move forward with confidence and ambition. Their achievements will also encourage the next generation of aspiring footballers," she added.
Describing the partnership as a significant milestone, Bangladesh Football Federation President Tabith Awal said, "This partnership with Glow & Lovely is highly significant in terms of brand association and recognising women's talent. I believe the brand's synergy will positively reflect on the players as well."
"At the same time, women's football is emerging as a strong ambassador for Bangladesh, as the sport is currently playing a vital role in representing the country's women on the global stage," he added.
Highlighting the agreement as a major boost for women's football and player development, Bangladesh Football Federation Vice-President Fahad Karim said, "Glow & Lovely is a brand with a legacy spanning more than three decades. Partnering with such a renowned brand is itself a form of strong branding for us."
"Their support in an important area like training and growth development is truly encouraging. I believe this partnership will inspire not only the current players, but also future generations of footballers," he added.
Thanking Glow & Lovely for its support, Bangladesh Under-16 Women's Team SAFF-winning goalkeeper Yearzan Begum said, "As our training requires us to spend long hours under the sun, it feels great to have a brand like Glow & Lovely standing beside us. We hope to bring home the SAFF Championship trophy once again with their support."
One of the team's key midfielders, Umehla Marma, also expressed her excitement about the partnership.
"We are truly happy to have Glow & Lovely by our side. We hope they will continue supporting us in the future as well," she said.
At the signing ceremony, national women's football team captain Afeida Khandaker Pranti said, "This is the first partnership of such scale for our team, and I would like to sincerely thank Glow & Lovely for their support."
"We now have the opportunity to secure a hat-trick title at the upcoming SAFF Championship, and we will strive to make the most of this partnership in achieving that goal," she added.
Beyond sponsorship, Glow & Lovely will also work towards supporting training, growth and development initiatives that contribute to the continued progress of women's football in Bangladesh, according to officials from Unilever Bangladesh.
