Deputy, assistant AGs barred from entering unauthorised HC courtrooms amid influence claims
The directive was issued in a notice from the Attorney General’s Office yesterday (6 May).
Attorney General Barrister Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal has instructed deputy attorney generals and assistant attorney generals not to enter any High Court courtroom other than those assigned to them by the attorney general, following allegations of attempts to influence court proceedings.
The directive was issued in a notice from the Attorney General's Office yesterday (6 May).
According to the notice, signed by Administrative Officer Md Nasir Uddin, the attorney general has come to know that some deputy attorney generals and assistant attorney generals assigned to different courts were leaving their designated courtrooms during proceedings and appearing in other courts in an attempt to influence various cases.
In this situation, all concerned have been requested, by order, not to enter any court other than their assigned courtroom during court hours, the notice added.
