ACC seeks wealth statements of 12 DGHS employees, families

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has asked 20 people, including 12 Directorate General of Health Service (DGHS) employees, to submit wealth statements within the next 21 working days.

DGHS driver Abdul Malek, who was recently arrested on charges of carrying an illegal firearm and trading in fake currency, is on the list, too, along with his wife Nargis Begum.

Also, Muzibul Hoque Munshi, accounts officer of DGHS' Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI), and his wife Rifat Akhter; Tofael Ahmed Bhuiyan, EPI's data entry operator, and his wife Khadiza Akhter are on the list as well.
Obaidur Rahman, administrative officer of Gopalgonj General Hospital, and his wife Bilkis Rahman; Rehana Akhter, staff nurse of Fardipur Medical College and also another wife of Obaidur, have been served notices, too.
Also, Imdadul Haque, accountant of Rangpur Medical College, and his wife Umme Rumman Fency; Mahamuduzzaman, administrative officer of National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, and his wife Sabina Yesmin have been asked to submit statements.
Nazim Uddin, store officer of Saheed Tazuddin Ahmed Medical College, and his wife Firoza Begum; Kamrul Hasan, office assistant of DGHS, and his wife Dr Ummey Habiba; Saiful Islam, stenographer of Sheikh Sayera Khatun Medical College; Mir Raihan Ali, an official at DGHS Barishal office, and Anwar Hossain, accountant of Rajshahi Medical College, have been served notices as well.
Action will be taken under the ACC Act 2004 if they fail to submit the statements accordingly or give false information, according to the notices.
