BNP manifesto promises 'new dawn' for Bangladesh: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said today (6 February) that the party's election manifesto pledges a "new dawn" in Bangladesh.
The announcement came at a ceremony at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel in Dhaka, where BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman unveiled the party's manifesto.
Paying tribute to Begum Khaleda Zia, the late BNP chairperson and three-time prime minister, Fakhrul said the nation will forever remember her lifelong fight for democracy.
He also remembered BNP founder late president Ziaur Rahman, noting his role in building a democratic political party and uniting all democratic forces.
On the party's future leadership, he said Tarique, as a young and visionary leader, will guide BNP into a new phase, bringing a fresh message amid complex political and geopolitical challenges.
He concluded with an appeal to the people, saying, "Let us all create a new history in Bangladesh under this new leadership."
