Prime Bank seminar highlights role of youth in financial inclusion
Prime Bank PLC, in collaboration with Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and its Career Club, organised a seminar titled "Financial Inclusion: Engaging and Inspiring Youth in Banking" under its flagship PrimeAcademia initiative.
The keynote address was delivered by Deputy Managing Director and Head of Consumer and SME Banking Division, Prime Bank PLC, M Nazeem A Choudhury, who highlighted how artificial intelligence, data-driven decision-making, and innovation are reshaping the future of banking. He urged students to prepare for careers that combine technology, creativity, and purpose to drive inclusive growth.
Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Liability, Prime Bank PLC, Shaila Abedin, emphasised the importance of female leadership, ethical banking, and values-driven decision-making in building sustainable financial institutions. She encouraged young women to step forward and take on leadership roles in the banking sector.
Senior Vice President and Head of Financial Inclusion and School Banking at Prime Bank PLC, M M Mahbub Hasan, focuses on financial literacy and money management, underscoring their role in empowering young people to make informed financial decisions. He stated that early exposure to financial literacy can help develop financially responsible citizens and future leaders.
The academic perspective was shared by Dr Ferdous Sarwar, Professor, Department of Industrial and Production Engineering, BUET, who stressed the need for stronger industry–academia collaboration to bridge the gap between education and real-world financial challenges.
