Siam City Cement Bangladesh appoints Kanthasat Boontem
Siam City Cement (Bangladesh) Ltd has appointed Kanthasat Boontem as its new leader, bringing more than 23 years' industry experience across multiple functions and markets.
Dr Boontem has extensive experience within the Siam City Cement Group (SCCC) and other leading cement companies in Thailand. His career spans maintenance, manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, project management, digital transformation and operations across Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Bangladesh.
He built his professional foundation through hands-on technical roles, while gradually developing broad expertise in plant operations, sourcing and new business development, enabling him to manage complex multi-country operations effectively.

Prior to his current appointment, Dr Boontem served as Operations Director and a member of the Executive Committee of Siam City Cement (Bangladesh) Ltd. In that role, he oversaw manufacturing operations, cost optimisation, energy efficiency, product development, occupational health and safety, quality management, logistics, capital expenditure, environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives and people development.
A Thai national, Dr Boontem holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Khon Kaen University and a PhD in International Economics from the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA).
The company said his end-to-end industry expertise positions him strongly to lead Siam City Cement (Bangladesh) Ltd into its next phase of growth. Under his leadership, the company aims to further strengthen operational excellence, drive innovation across products and processes, expand sustainable and ESG-focused initiatives, enhance market presence and build organisational capability through talent development.
