Jubo Dal president alleges 'orchestrated propaganda' ahead of polls
Munna asserted that the propaganda is being spearheaded by quarters who are intimidated by the growing popularity and mass support for BNP.
Jatiotabadi Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna has alleged that a systematic propaganda campaign is being carried out against the BNP's youth wing to create confusion among the public ahead of the national election.
Speaking at a press conference at the BNP's election management office in Gulshan today (1 February), he claimed that this smear campaign has reached a new intensity in recent days, using social media and certain online portals to tarnish the image of Jubo Dal.
Munna asserted that the propaganda is being spearheaded by quarters who are intimidated by the growing popularity and mass support for BNP.
He stated that the people of the country have already taken a stand in favour of democracy and that the current "mass wave" for the party has forced its opponents to resort to rumours and misinformation.
He further remarked that the verdict of the people is not a pre-written script but an expression of their will, which he claimed is clearly in support of BNP.
During the press conference, the Jubo Dal president highlighted several specific instances to illustrate the nature of the disinformation being spread against his organisation.
He described these efforts as a desperate attempt to halt the democratic momentum.
Munna called upon the media and the general public to verify the authenticity of any news before believing it.
He urged everyone not to be misled by motivated propaganda and to play a role in maintaining a peaceful electoral environment to safeguard the democratic process
