Officials stress fair polls at Saghata view-exchange meeting
A view-exchange meeting was held with polling officials in Saghata on the occasion of the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum 2026.
The meeting took place at the Saghata Upazila Parishad auditorium on the morning of 30 January and was organised by the Upazila Administration and the Election Office.
Masudur Rahman Molla, deputy commissioner of Gaibandha, attended the programme as the chief guest. The meeting was chaired by Ashraful Kabir, upazila executive officer and assistant returning officer of Saghata.
Special guests included Jasim Uddin, superintendent of police of Gaibandha, Mohammad Shahidul Islam, district election officer of Gaibandha, and Shahria Ahad, major and commander of the Gaibandha Army Camp.
Officials from various government departments, polling officials, and journalists from print and electronic media were also present at the meeting.
Speakers said the voting process must be conducted strictly in line with the instructions of the Election Commission, adding that no form of irregularity or bias would be tolerated.
During the exchange of views, detailed discussions were held on the necessary measures to ensure that the upcoming national parliamentary election and referendum are conducted in a free, fair, and impartial manner.
