Prime Bank, CPA launch co-branded Visa card
Prime Bank PLC, in partnership with the Chittagong Port Authority (CPA), has introduced the CPA–Prime Bank co-branded Visa card, advancing digital financial solutions for stakeholders across the port ecosystem.
The card aims to enable streamlined transactions, boost operational efficiency, and deliver tailored financial solutions for individuals and businesses within the port community, according to a press release.
The launch ceremony was held at the Sheraton Hotel in Dhaka.
Rear Admiral SM Moniruzzaman, chairman of Chittagong Port Authority, attended as the chief guest, along with Azam J Chowdhury, chairman of the Prime Bank Foundation; Faisal Rahman, acting CEO of Prime Bank PLC; Sabbir Ahmed, country manager of Visa; M Nazeem A Choudhury, additional managing director of Prime Bank PLC; and other senior officials from both organisations.
Azam J Chowdhury, chairman of the Prime Bank Foundation, and Faisal Rahman, acting chief executive officer of Prime Bank PLC, also attended and formally inaugurated the card.
Sabbir Ahmed, country manager, Visa, and M Nazeem A Choudhury, additional managing director, Prime Bank PLC, were also present.
Rear Admiral SM Moniruzzaman stated that the partnership with Prime Bank will modernise the port's payment system, strengthen digital transformation efforts, and make business operations more efficient and user-friendly, enabling secure, transparent transactions.
'This partnership will upgrade the port's payment system, making it more efficient and user-friendly while streamlining business operations,' he said.
He emphasised that users will benefit from more secure, transparent transactions.
Such initiatives will improve efficiency and support port growth.
Azam J Chowdhury stated that Prime Bank is proud to be associated with the Chittagong Port Authority, which plays a key role in Bangladesh's economy.

The co-branded card will modernise transactions and enhance user experience at the port.
Senior officials from both organisations also attended the launch event.
