Rashed Khan has no immovable assets, owns cash and gold worth Tk81.48 lakh, affidavit shows
Rashed stated that he owns 30 bhori of gold, which he received as gifts
Md Rashed Khan, who recently resigned as general secretary of Gono Odhikar Parishad and joined the BNP, has no immovable assets such as land or buildings, according to the affidavit he submitted to contest the upcoming national election.
However, he owns movable assets, including cash and gold, worth an estimated Tk81.48 lakh at current market prices, according to the affidavit published on the Election Commission's website.
The acquisition value of these assets is shown as Tk36.53 lakh.
His wife, Rabeya Akter Alo, owns movable assets worth Tk17.70 lakh, with an acquisition value of Tk2.70 lakh.
According to the affidavit, Rashed is involved in business and politics. His annual income from business is Tk4.50 lakh.
The affidavit shows that he has Tk35.45 lakh in cash. He has Tk5,085 in an account at Dutch-Bangla Bank and Tk2,497 in an account at First Security Islami Bank.
Rashed stated that he owns 30 bhori of gold, which he received as gifts. His wife Rabeya Akter Alo owns 10 bhori of gold.
In his income tax return for the 2025-26 fiscal year, Rashed declared assets worth Tk38.45 lakh and an annual income of Tk4.50 lakh, against which he paid Tk5,000 in income tax.
Rashed Khan is contesting the election from the Jhenaidah-4 constituency after securing BNP's nomination.
