According to police, miscreants threw them at the resort, but no damage occurred
Two petrol bombs were recovered from Nisarga Resort, owned by Grameen Telecom Trust, in Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur in the early hours today (12 November).
The resort, located in the remote Kuchlibari area of Nagri union, had come under a petrol bomb attack five months ago.
According to police and local sources, guards spotted two glass bottles resembling petrol bombs inside the resort boundary in the early hours and alerted police. Law enforcers later recovered the bottles, which contained a kerosene-like flammable liquid.
Jamal Uddin, in-charge of the Ulukhola Police Camp, said, "Two glass bottles with a kerosene-like substance were recovered. Miscreants threw them at the resort, but no damage occurred."
He added that the incident is under investigation.
Earlier on 26 May, two petrol bombs exploded inside the resort. At that time, Ansar members on duty quickly extinguished the fire and recovered broken glass bottles, twine, and a plastic jerrycan from the scene.
A case was filed over that incident by Abdul Wadud, a retired army member and duty officer at the resort.
Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus is the chairman and managing trustee of Grameen Telecom Trust.
