The court has also issued a warrant against another person in the case.
A Dhaka court has issued an arrest warrant against content creator Ashraful Alam, popularly known as Hero Alam, and his associate Ahsan Habib Selim in a case filed by Alam's former wife -- accusing them of attempted murder, assault, and intimidation.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Wahiduzzaman issued the order today (12 November) following an application filed by the plaintiff's lawyer, Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury.
Ziaur, in the plea, said that both accused had violated bail conditions and were not appearing in court. "That is why we urged the court to issue the arrest warrants."
According to the case document, following a marital dispute, Alam divorced the plaintiff Ria Moni and forced her out of his house several months ago. On 21 June, Ria and her family members were called to a house in the Hatirjheel area to resolve the matter, where Alam and 10 to 12 unidentified individuals verbally abused them.
The accused later unlawfully entered Ria's current residence, attacked her with wooden sticks, and caused bodily injuries. During the assault, a gold chain weighing 1.5 bhori was also forcibly stolen from her neck, read the case detail.
The court has also issued a warrant against another person in the case.
Following the incident, Ria filed the case at Hatirjheel Police Station on 23 June, leading to the recent court order.
