6 killed as truck hits auto-rickshaw in Noakhali's Kabirhat
Two women and the auto-rickshaw driver died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries on the way to the Kabirhat Upazila Health Complex.
Six people, including a woman, were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG-run autorickshaw at Kabirhat upazila of Noakhali today (4 November).
Kabirhat Fire Service leader Firoz Alam and Kabirhat Upazila Health Officer Dr SK Debnath confirmed the matter.
Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Police sources said the accident occurred in front of Islamia Senior Madrasa on the Kabirhat-Basurhat road around 2:15pm when a speeding truck heading towards Kabirhat collided head-on with a CNG-run autorickshaw, leaving five people, including the CNG driver, dead on the spot and another injured.
The injured was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The bodies of four of the deceased have been kept at Kabirhat Police Station and the bodies of two at the hospital.
