ICT accepts formal charges against Inu over Kushtia killings
Seven people were killed and several others injured during the protests of July-August Uprising in Kushtia

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has accepted the formal charges against former information minister Hasanul Haq Inu filed by the prosecution today (25 September) over the killing of seven people in Kushtia during the July Uprising last year.
The tribunal has set 29 September for the hearing on framing charges.
The July–August movement in Kushtia left seven people dead and several others injured. Following the killings, a case of crimes against humanity was filed against Inu at the ICT, and investigators later submitted their report.
Prosecutor Saimum Reza Talukder filed the charges today (25 September) at International Crimes Tribunal-2, accompanied by Prosecutor Abdullah Al Noman.
Later at a press briefing, Prosecutor Gazi M H Tamim said, "eight charges have been brought against Inu. The 39-page formal charge includes a list of 20 prosecution witnesses, along with three audio recordings and six videos as evidence."
He added that preliminary evidence indicates links between Inu and these crimes. Earlier, the tribunal ordered Inu's arrest and detention in the crimes against humanity case.
He also said that the tribunal has ordered Inu to be present in court on 29 September for the charge-framing hearing.
Police arrested Inu on 26 August last year in Dhaka's Uttara area. He was interrogated in custody in connection with several cases and remains in jail.
