Syngenta pioneers insect resistance management facility in Bangladesh

Syngenta Bangladesh has launched Synnovator, the country's first private sector-led facility for Insect Resistance Management (IRM), aiming to protect crops and ensure long-term food security.
The initiative marks a significant milestone in agricultural research and innovation.
As climate change accelerates pest evolution, conventional crop protection methods become less effective. Synnovator addresses this challenge by advancing resistance monitoring, researching insect biology, and profiling host–pest interactions. By generating evidence-based insights, the facility strengthens crop protection, builds farmer confidence, and promotes sustainable food production.
"Innovation fuels Syngenta's mission. With Synnovator, we're spearheading new thinking in Insect Resistance Management. This facility underscores our unwavering commitment to protecting crops from climate-fueled threats, empowering farmers, and cultivating a resilient agricultural future for Bangladesh," said Hedayet Ullah, Managing Director of Syngenta Bangladesh.
Through Synnovator, Syngenta Bangladesh accelerates its global sustainability priority — Higher Yields, Lower Impacts. The focus sharpens on robust, resilient food systems and vibrant, environmentally sustainable agricultural growth.
The facility will play a pivotal role in promoting responsible farming practices, ensuring crop resilience, and strengthening Bangladesh's food security as environmental challenges grow.
