BCCCI election rescheduled for 25 October

The Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) has rescheduled its election for the 2025–2027 term to 25 October.
The election board announced the new schedule on 23 July, reads a press release.
As per the schedule, the election will form a 25-member executive committee, which will include key positions such as president, senior vice president, vice president, secretary general, joint secretary general, director finance, director international affairs, director administration, director industry & commerce, director public relations, along with several other director-level roles.
To participate in the election, members must pay their due subscription fees by 25 August 2025. The election board will publish the preliminary voter list on 2 September, followed by the final voter list on 9 September.
Earlier this year in March, the interim government appointed Nargis Murshida, joint secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, as the administrator of BCCCI.
The list of valid candidates will be released on 30 September after initial scrutiny, with the final candidate list scheduled for publication on 5 October, the release added.
The election was originally scheduled for 23 August.
However, due to a low number of voters resulting from the failure of many members to submit necessary documentation, both the BCCCI authorities and the election board decided to postpone the election by two months.
The move is intended to increase member participation and ensure a free, fair, and inclusive electoral process.
