Following the tragic Bangladesh Air Force aircraft crash in Dhaka's Uttara, heartbroken relatives have gathered outside the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), desperately waiting for updates on their loved ones.

The air is heavy with anxiety and hope as medical teams are working tirelessly to treat the injured, many of them children.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), around 70 people injured in the accident have so far been admitted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Among them are several children and teenagers, including Shamim Yusuf, 14, Mahin, 15, Abid, 17, Rafi Barua, 21, Sayem, 12, Sayem Yusuf, 14, Muntaha, 11, Nafi, 10, Mehreen, 12, Ayman, 10, Zaena, 13, Emon, 17, Rohan, 14, Abid, 9, Ashraf, 37, Yusha, 11, Payel, 12, Albera, 10, Tasmia, 15, Mahiya, Ayan, 14, Fayaz, 14, Masuma, 38, Mahata, 14, Shamim, Zakir, 55, Niloy, 14, and Samia.

At the hospital, a constant stream of patients is arriving in ambulances. After receiving first aid in the emergency department, they are being transferred to the wards.

The area is overcrowded, and medical staff are struggling to manage the high volume of patients while continuing urgent treatment.

Outside the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), relatives wait anxiously for news of their loved ones. The atmosphere is tense, filled with fear and uncertainty as families hold on to hope.

Energy Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan and Law Adviser Asif Nazrul, visited the hospital to see the victims. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman also visited the hospital.

To maintain order, additional forces from the police, RAB, Ansar, and Fire Service have been deployed in front of the Burn Institute's emergency department.

In response to the crisis, the Bangladesh Air Force has opened a 24/7 emergency cell at its Records Office to coordinate support efforts, including arranging blood donations.

ISPR has urged the public to contact +8801769993558 (WhatsApp) to assist.

As of this evening, at least 20 dead and 171 hospitalised as a Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) training aircraft (F-7 BGI), which took off at 1:06pm today (21 July), crashed into a building inside the Milestone College campus at Diabari in the capital's Uttara and caught fire following an explosion – leading to multiple casualties.

Among the dead is Flight Lieutenant Toukir Islam Sagar, the injured pilot, who succumbed to his injuries at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka.
