Shimanto Bank signs MoU with National Pension Authority
Shimanto Bank has signed an MoU with the National Pension Authority to join the national pension scheme as a Banking Service Provider.
Shimanto Bank will collect registration fees and monthly pension instalments from subscribers across its network of branches and sub-branches as part of the agreement. This partnership will make pension contributions more accessible and convenient for a wider segment of the population.
Mr Rafiqul Islam, Managing Director and CEO of Shimanto Bank, and Mr Mahiuddin Khan, Executive Chairman of the National Pension Authority, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

Dr Md Khairuzzaman Mozumder, Secretary of the Finance Division, Ministry of Finance, attended the signing ceremony as the chief guest. Senior officials from the National Pension Authority and Shimanto Bank also attended the meeting.
This initiative supports the government's vision of expanding the reach of the universal pension system by involving more financial institutions and digital payment channels.
