Coast Guard holds free medical camp in Mongla
Bangladesh Coast Guard organised a free medical camp at Joymoni Primary School under Mongla police station in Bagerhat on Monday.
The camp was conducted from 10am to 1pm under the supervision of Coast Guard Base Mongla, according to Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan, media officer of the force, who disclosed the information on Monday afternoon.
He said Bangladesh Coast Guard has been supporting underprivileged people in coastal and riverine areas since its inception. As part of that effort, the force has regularly been providing free medical treatment through medical camps for poor and low-income people.
At Monday's camp, around 200 poor, distressed and underprivileged people, including children, received free treatment and necessary medicines.
Sabbir Alam Sujan said Bangladesh Coast Guard will continue such public welfare activities in the future.
