As the Secondary School Certificate and equivalent results were published today, it was seen that girls outshone boys by over 5% as 71.03% of girls who sat for the exam passed, while the percentage was 65.88% for boys.

Regional performance variations were substantial, with Rajshahi Board leading at 77.63% and Jashore trailing at 73.69%.
In terms of stream of education, girls maintained their excellence as well.
Science Stream: Girls maintained a narrow lead with an 86.75% pass rate compared to boys' 84.59%.
Humanities Stream: The gender gap widened significantly, with girls achieving a 58.64% pass rate against boys' 47.26% - an 11.38 percentage point difference.
Commerce Stream: Female students outperformed males by nearly 10 percentage points (71.62% vs 61.94%).
Meanwhile, Technical Education Board candidates performed strongest overall (73.63%), outperforming both general education boards and madrasas (68.09%).
