Anisul, Salman, Amu, 6 others shown arrested in fresh cases
Former ministers Anisul Huq, Amir Hossain Amu and Dipu Moni and ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina's Adviser Salman F Rahman and five others were shown arrested today in new cases at the capital's Jatrabari police station in connection with crimes committed during the July uprising.
Five others who have been shown arrested are— former state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, former inspector general of police Shahidul Haque, former secretary Jahangir Alam, former member of parliament for Dhaka-5 Monirul Islam Monu, and former OC of Jatrabari police station Abul Hasan.
Police produced the nine before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Masum Mia with a plea to show them arrested in new cases, which was accepted by the court.

Eight of the accused were arrested at different times between August and November last year, while former MP Kazi Monirul Islam Monu was apprehended in April this year.
They were later sent back to lock-up after the court appearance.
