bKash eases electricity bill payments through merchant points

Electricity bills can now be paid at over 250,000 bKash merchant points across Bangladesh, in addition to payments through the bKash app and agent points. This expansion significantly enhances the accessibility and convenience of electricity bill payments for customers nationwide.
Currently, utility bills from nearly all government institutions are payable via the 'Pay Bill' option on the bKash app. Customers can also make payments at approximately 350,000 bKash agent points throughout the country. The recent integration of merchant points offers an additional payment channel, providing greater flexibility for users.
This new facility not only benefits customers but also empowers merchants by enabling them to offer electricity bill payment services alongside their existing goods and services transactions. This development further supports the promotion of cashless transactions across Bangladesh.
bKash remains the country's largest platform for settling various government fees, including electricity, water, gas, telephone, land services, passport fees, internet, and television subscriptions. The platform continues to onboard new organisations as billers. Additionally, customers have the option to download and save digital, eco-friendly receipts after completing their payments.
