A Dhaka court today (2 July) scrapped a bail plea of former Awami League (AL) lawmaker from reserved seat Sabina Akter Tuhin in a case lodged under anti-terror act with the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sefatullah passed the order as police produced Tuhin before the court after the end of her two-day remand in the case and pleaded to keep her behind bars till the end of probe.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Partha Bhadra placed her on a two-day remand in the case.

According to the case documents, leaders and activists of now banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), along with Jubo Mohila League, brought out a procession in front of the Planning Ministry in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area on 4 April.

"They chanted different anti-government and anti-state slogans in the rally for promoting the activities of banned organisations and encouraging terrorist organisations in the country," police said.

Police later filed the case with the concerned police station.
