Court orders seizure of Tk15cr assets of Hasina aide Tarique Siddique, brother
The estimated market value of these properties is around Tk15 crore

A Dhaka court today (2 July) ordered the seizure of land and a building worth Tk15 crore owned by Tarique Ahmed Siddique, former defence adviser to ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, and his brother Shafique Ahmed Siddique.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order while also appointing a receiver to oversee the seized assets, following a petition by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Deputy Director Md Monirul Islam.
According to the order, the seized assets include 17 decimals of land in Gazipur—part of a 33.50 decimal plot owned by Shafique Ahmed Siddique (excluding portions already sold)—and half of a 10-storey building constructed by Tarique Ahmed Siddique on 16.50 decimals of land within a 67-decimal plot.
The estimated market value of these properties is around Tk15 crore.
The ACC's petition said that an investigation is currently underway into allegations of acquiring wealth beyond known sources of income.
During the inquiry, it was discovered that the accused individuals were attempting to transfer, relocate, or dispose of the immovable properties in question.
The ACC argued that such actions could obstruct the ongoing investigation. To prevent any disruption and to preserve the integrity of the investigation, the court order for asset seizure and receiver appointment was deemed necessary until the inquiry concludes.
