Rajuk plot scam: Court orders newspaper ads summoning Hasina, 22 others
The court also directed authorities to submit a compliance report by 20 July

A Dhaka court has ordered the prosecution to publish advertisements in newspapers, summoning ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, daughter Saima Wazed Putul, sister Sheikh Rehana, and 19 other individuals, to appear in court in connection with five corruption cases.
The cases were filed over the allocation of plots through fraud in the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha's (Rajuk) Purbachal New Town Project.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib issued the order after a hearing today (1 July).
The court also directed authorities to submit a compliance report by 20 July.
ACC Prosecutor Mir Ahmed Ali Salam confirmed the development, saying today was set for the hearing involved six cases filed in January over alleged irregularities in Rajuk's plot allocation.
"In one case, the court had already ordered the publication of a notice on 17 June. Today, we informed the court that the remaining 23 accused in the other five cases are absconding. Consequently, we requested that notices be published in newspapers. The court subsequently ordered BG Press to publish these notices," he said.
The ACC had filed six separate cases in January over corruption in plot allocations.
On 14 January, ACC Deputy Director Salahuddin filed a case against Hasina and eight others, accusing them of abusing power to acquire a 10-katha government plot in the Purbachal New Town Project.
Following an investigation, ACC Assistant Director Afnan Jannat Keya, the investigating officer, submitted a charge sheet on 10 March, implicating 12 additional individuals.
The court had already ordered a newspaper notice against Hasina and 12 others in that case on 17 June.
Charge sheets have been filed in all six cases, and arrest warrants have been issued for the absconding accused.
