Hero Alom hospitalised after sleeping pill overdose

Ashraful Alom, widely known as Hero Alom, has been admitted to a hospital in Bogura after falling ill due to an overdose of sleeping pills.
Confirming the matter to The Business Standard today (27 June), Dr Moniruzzaman of the Dhunat Health Complex said, "Hero Alom had taken excessive sleeping pills, which led to his illness. He was initially brought to the complex unconscious around noon."
"After initial treatment, he was referred to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College in Bogura for further medical care. However, he is currently out of danger," the doctor added.

Hero Alom was brought to the health complex by his friend, playwright Zahid Hasan Sagar.
Speaking to the media, Zahid said, "Hero Alom had been feeling frustrated over his relationship with his wife Riya Moni. He came to my house to escape the constant public scrutiny and to spend some quiet time. I believe his despair over not being able to be with Riya led him to this step."
Meanwhile, after arriving at the hospital, Riya Moni told the reporters, "I have come here and learned everything about his [Hero Alom] condition. I am now taking him to Dhaka for better medical care."
According to Riya, she left for Bogura as soon as she heard of the incident in the morning.
On the way, she said, "After hearing the news, I set off for Bogura immediately. I still don't know all the details, but I have heard that his friend Zahid was with him at the time."
Upon arriving, Riya Moni posted several photos on her Facebook account along with a status that read, "Just as it takes time to build a relationship, it also takes time to break one. Relationships are built by two people but often destroyed by a third party."
Earlier in the day, reports spread that Hero Alom had attempted suicide while visiting a friend's house in Bogura. According to media sources, Hero Alom and his wife have been facing ongoing marital tensions, which may have led to his drastic actions.
Local said around 3am today, Hero Alom visited Zahid's residence in Bhandarbari village near the Jamuna River in Dhunat upazila.
Around 11am, Zahid grew concerned when he was unable to wake up Hero Alom. Upon discovering sleeping pills next to his pillow, he quickly rushed him to the health complex.
