National Bank holds workshop on ethics and good governance

National Bank PLC hosted a workshop titled "Good Governance, Ethics and Integrity in Corporate Environment and Personal Life" at the National Bank Training Institute on Tuesday, focusing on fostering a values-based culture within both professional and personal spheres.

Dr Salimullah Khan, a noted academic, writer and professor at North South University, conducted the session. Known for his sharp intellect and analytical depth, Dr Khan engaged the audience in a wide-ranging discussion on how ethical conduct, transparency and personal integrity are crucial for long-term success in any organisation.

Imran Ahmed, Managing Director (Current Charge) of National Bank, attended the event as the Chief Guest. In his remarks, he emphasised the importance of ethics in banking operations and reaffirmed the bank's commitment to strengthening internal culture through continuous learning and accountability.

Among the special guests were Deputy Managing Director (In-Charge) Kazi Kamal Uddin Ahmed, Md Abdur Rahim and Md Meshkat-ul-Anwar Khan. The session was presided over by Shah Syed Rafiul Bari, Principal of the National Bank Training Institute.

Dr Salimullah Khan's keynote offered insights into the philosophical underpinnings of integrity and ethical behaviour, and he encouraged attendees to consider the long-term societal impact of everyday decisions. He also welcomed questions and comments from participants, addressing them with logical clarity and practical relevance.

Senior divisional and departmental heads of the bank's head office joined the event in person, while regional heads, branch managers and officers from across the country participated via online platforms.

The session is part of the bank's ongoing initiative to build a governance-first culture and improve decision-making frameworks across all levels.
