Salehuddin urges NBR staffs to concentrate on revenue collection

Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed today (25 June) urged all the officials and employees of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to concentrate on revenue collection while staying in their respective stations in the last few days left in the outgoing fiscal year (FY25).
The finance adviser also invited the representatives of the BCS (tax) and BCS (customs and excise) cadres to sit with him tomorrow at 5pm to discuss the already promulgated ordinance on the NBR, said a Finance Ministry press release.
It said that through such discussions, it would be possible to bring necessary changes into the promulgated ordinance by 31 July 2025, through consensus after resolving all the misunderstandings on the ordinance.
Earlier on 12 May, the Revenue Policy and Revenue Management Ordinance 2025 were promulgated.
Before that, the Council of Advisers, in its meeting on 16 January 2025, decided to split the revenue board in two separate divisions based on the submitted report by the Advisory Committee on NBR reforms.
