Ctg custom house officials observe 3-hour pen-down strike demanding NBR chairman's removal
Custom House, Chattogram handles around 2,000 bills of entry for imported goods and about 5,000 export bills daily, making it one of the busiest customs stations in the country

Officials at the Custom House, Chattogram (CHC) are staging a three-hour pen-down strike this morning (23 June), demanding the removal of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) chairman and protesting against inadequate representation in the ongoing NBR reform process.
The pen-down strike, called by the 'NBR Reform Unity Council', started at 9am and will continue until 12pm as part of a centrally announced programme.
The council had previously declared the protest plan on 21 June.
Saidul Islam, spokesperson and deputy commissioner of the Custom House, Chattogram, confirmed the work stoppage to The Business Standard, saying regular customs activities will resume after 12pm.

Earlier, the NBR Reform Unity Council had enforced a pen-down strike from 14 May, which was suspended on 19 May after the government offered to hold discussions under the leadership of the chief adviser.
