A high-level BNP delegation, led by its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, is set to leave for China tonight at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The BNP delegation is scheduled to depart from Dhaka tonight, BNP Media Cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan said.

The delegation comprises of BNP Standing Committee members Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Selima Rahman and AZM Zahid Hossain.

BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council members Zahir Uddin Swapon, Ismail Jabiullah and Prof Sukomal Barua, along with BNP Media Cell Convener Maudud Ahmed Pavel, will also join the delegation.

Earlier, BNP delegates met Chinese Ambassador in Dhaka Yao Wen at Chinese Embassy on Thursday evening.

Party insiders said the visit aims to strengthen BNP's relations with the Chinese government and the CPC.

Last month, a BNP delegation participated in an international conference in Beijing at the invitation of the (CPC).
