Chattogram District Police launches ‘Self-Defence Training Course’ for its members

The Chattogram District Police has launched a "Self-Defence Training Course" for its members to enhance the physical and mental readiness of police personnel in handling challenging situations.
The course was officially inaugurated today (17 June) at 3:30pm at the Police Lines Civic Center by Superintendent of Police, Md Saiful Islam Santu.
The initiative is designed to improve the overall fitness, mental strength, and self-defence capabilities of police officers, reads a press release.
During the opening ceremony, SP Saiful Islam addressed the trainees, emphasising the importance of martial arts as an effective and essential technique for self-protection.
"Martial arts are extremely useful for self-defence. This training will significantly help our personnel remain physically and mentally prepared while performing their duties in the field, even in the face of hostile situations," he said.
The course is set to be rolled out gradually to all police personnel under the Chattogram District Police. According to the SP, this initiative will not only boost the enthusiasm and efficiency of officers but also help restore their confidence in challenging situations.
The inauguration was attended by senior officials of the Chattogram District Police, trainee officers, and instructors, including the head trainer from the Chittagong Chinese Martial Art Wushu Academy, who will be conducting the sessions.
