Chief Adviser of the interim government, Muhammad Yunus, offered his Eid-ul-Adha prayers at the National Eidgah alongside thousands of muslims.
As in previous years, five Eid congregations will be held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
The first began at 7am, followed by the second at 8am and third one at 9am. The fourth and fifth congregations will be held 10am and 10:45am, respectively.
The main Eid congregation at the National Eidgah was organised by the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), with separate arrangements made for female worshippers. Children accompanied their parents, holding their hands as they joined the prayer gathering.
Elaborate security measures were in place to ensure the safety of the people during the main Eid congregation.
Mohammad Azad, who came to offer prayers with his children, told The Business Standard, "The security arrangement was excellent. Offering Eid prayers with my children was a unique and heartwarming experience. It felt truly special."
"I hope that beyond political affiliations, everyone will work together for the development of the country," he added.
His son, Zarif Azad, standing beside him, said, "I came to the Eidgah with my brother and father."
Law enforcement agencies, including the police, RAB, and other security forces, were seen on constant duty to ensure a safe and well-managed environment.
