Army won’t engage in anti-mosquito campaign, waste management this Eid: ISPR

Bangladesh Army today (27 May) said they do not have any plan to get engaged in waste management during the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha or anti-mosquito drive.

"Recently Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) administrator in a statement, carried by the media, said the military will be entrusted with the task of management of wastes of sacrificial animals and controlling Dengue mosquitoes," reads an ISPR statement said.

It added, "This is for information of all – Bangladesh Army is not aware of such activities and they do not have any plan to be involved in any such activities in future as well."

The ISPR said against the backdrop of current scenario, the army was relentlessly working to ensure the country's sovereignty and public safety.

"Bangladesh Army thinks it is logical that concerned and appropriate agencies should be tasked to carry out such tasks (like waste management and mosquito control)," the statement read.
