The Bangladesh Army has urged the public to remain vigilant against misinformation after a fake press release bearing the Armed Forces logo, was circulated online by a vested interest group.
In a post from its verified Facebook page this afternoon (23 May), the Army stated, "A vested interest group has recently published a fake press release using the logo of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. This malicious attempt seeks to create confusion among the general public and sow discord between the Armed Forces and the people."
The post continued, "Do not believe in rumours. Do not be misled. Verify information and stay alert."
