Jamuna Bank promotes Md Shahidul Islam as DMD
Jamuna Bank PLC has promoted Md Shahidul Islam to the esteemed position of deputy managing director, effective 28 April 2025.
With more than 30 years of experience in the banking sector, Mr Islam carries a wealth of knowledge spanning both conventional and Islamic banking. He currently oversees several crucial divisions including corporate banking, SME and retail marketing, cards, agri unit, Islamic banking, and bancassurance.
Before joining Jamuna Bank, Mr Islam held various branch managerial roles at Prime Bank PLC and Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, where he was instrumental in expanding Islamic financial services and strengthening operational leadership.

An alumnus of the University of Dhaka, he has further enhanced his expertise through specialised training in Malaysia, Singapore, and Bangladesh in Islamic finance, risk management, and trade operations.
