North South University welcomes Summer 2025 EMBA students

On the eve of a new academic journey, North South University (NSU) warmly welcomed its Summer 2025 Executive MBA and graduate business students through a vibrant orientation session held on 18 May. This gathering was more than an introduction; it was a meeting of minds, where tradition of learning met the pulse of the modern business world.

The evening unfolded with twelve simultaneous roundtable discussions, each dedicated to key academic disciplines — Marketing, Management, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Human Resource Management, and Management Information Systems. Nearly 200 fresh faces engaged in heartfelt conversations with over 50 esteemed alumni and industry leaders hailing from renowned organisations such as bKash, PwC, Nestlé, HSBC, Square Group, and Grameen Digital Health Solutions.

Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of NSU, and Professor Abdur Rob Khan, Treasurer and Pro Vice-Chancellor (In-Charge), graced the occasion, reminding all present of the enduring importance of blending academic rigour with practical industry insight to forge business leaders ready to shape the future.

Among the distinguished guests were Mr. Shams Zaman, Country Managing Partner at PwC; Ms. Ummiya Rahman, Senior Vice President at bKash; Dr. Ahmed Armaan Siddiqui, CEO of Grameen Digital Health Solutions; Ms. Hosne Ara Loma, HR Director at Nestlé; Mr. Mahbub Baset, COO of Ifad Multi Products Ltd; and many more luminaries who shared their wisdom and aspirations.

Dr. Nazlee Siddiqui, Director of NSU's MBA/EMBA Programs, articulated the spirit of the event: "By weaving together the fresh enthusiasm of new students with the seasoned experience of alumni and industry veterans, we kindle a lifelong passion for learning — a flame that will illuminate personal growth and professional excellence."

The roundtables, co-led by NSU faculty and industry experts, delved into the essential skills—both soft and technical—that define today's business landscape. This interaction empowered students with a clear vision of sector trends and the challenges they will meet, bridging classroom knowledge with real-world demands.

In a celebration of merit and promise, NSU awarded scholarships to outstanding students, including a generous 50% tuition waiver to the highest achiever and 25% waivers to two others, honouring excellence at the threshold of their academic voyage.
