Chittagong University begins trial of eco-friendly e-car service
The experimental service began today and will remain free for students through tomorrow

The University of Chittagong (CU) has introduced electric cars (e-cars) on campus on a trial basis to promote eco-friendly and modern transportation.
The experimental service began today (13 May) and will remain free for students through tomorrow.
Regarding the launch, CU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr Md Kamal Uddin said, "The e-cars are being operated on a trial basis starting today. If the service proves effective, a full-scale rollout with 20 e-cars is planned from June."
The vehicles, sourced from a Dhaka-based company, arrived on campus today.
According to the university's transport department, CU will provide charging and parking facilities, while a private company will operate the service commercially.
Depending on distance, fares for using the e-cars within campus are expected to range from Tk5 to Tk15.
