Govt approves draft agreement on Bangladesh, Jordan cultural cooperation

The Council of Advisers in a meeting today (6 May) approved the draft agreement on the proposed 'Cultural Cooperation' to be signed between Bangladesh and Jordan.

The approval came from the meeting held at the Chief Adviser's Office (CAO) with Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus in the chair.

Under the agreement, the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Jordan will be strengthened through mutual cooperation in cultural and heritage preservation.

The agreement will create opportunities for exchanging experience between officials and experts of both the countries by organizing meetings, seminars and exhibitions.

It will encourage mutual access to the libraries and archives of the two countries for cultural, scientific and educational purposes.

It will also encourage the exchange of information, literature, systematic and statistical research and periodical publications in the field of culture and art between the two nations.

The Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division has already vetted the draft of the proposed agreement on cultural cooperation, aimed at strengthening cooperation in the control, legal protection, maintenance and restoration of artistic heritage and manuscripts between the two countries. 

The meeting also approved the draft 'Renewable Energy Policy 2025' setting the target of meeting 20 percent electricity of total demand from renewable sources by 2030 and 30% by 2040.  

The meeting also approved the agreement between the 'Republic of Peru and the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh on the waiver of visa requirements for the holders of diplomatic, special and service or official passports.'
