BRAC Bank to participate in CMSME Fair supporting women-led enterprises

BRAC Bank participates in a Banker-Women Entrepreneur Conference and Product Showcasing Fair exclusively for women entrepreneurs of cottage, micro, small, and medium enterprises (CMSME). 

The SME and Special Programmes Department of Bangladesh Bank is organizing the exposition to help create a market for women business owners. This initiative is part of the central bank's mission to inspire more women into entrepreneurship and ensure their inclusion in the mainstream financial system.

Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur will formally inaugurate the fair as the chief guest on May 8, 2025, at Bangla Academy premises in Dhaka. The expo will run from 10:00 AM to 08:00 PM until May 11, 2025, and is open to the public. Finance and Science and Technology Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed will attend the closing ceremony as the chief guest on May 11, 2025.

BRAC Bank's Managing Director and CEO, Selim R. F. Hussain, and Additional Managing Director and Head of SME Banking, Syed Abdul Momen, will attend the inauguration ceremony.

70 entrepreneurs from 49 banks and financial institutions, including BRAC Bank, will showcase their products and services in this marketplace creation platform for all-women entrepreneurs. BRAC Bank's women SME clients, Dighal and Ananya, will participate in this fair with their organic food and skincare items at stall 1.

On the margin of the conference, BRAC Bank will organise a panel discussion on "Connecting Grassroots CMSME to Institutional Financing: Obstacles and Potential" with participation of Bangladesh Bank's Director, SME and SPD Nawshad Mustafa, BRAC Bank's AMD and Head of SME Banking Syed Abdul Momen, DMD of SME Foundation Md. Nazeem Hassan Satter and Team Leader of Inspire, SwissContact Bidowra Tahmin Khan. BRAC Bank's Head of SME Strategy, Innovation and New Business, Jakirul Islam, will moderate the session starting at 10:00AM on May 9, 2025, at Poet Shamsur Rahman Seminar Hall. The panel discussion is open to all.

Since its inception, BRAC Bank has partnered with Bangladesh Bank to groom women CMSME entrepreneurs and help them start, nurture, and expand their businesses. The bank provides nationwide banking, financing, capacity-building, networking, and market development support to women-empowered entrepreneurs.
