Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association (Barvida) has suspended SM Anwar Sadat for one year from the post of general member and vice president-1 of the association, according to a press release.

Anwar Sadat was expelled on July 26 by unanimous vote of the 8th regular meeting of the Executive Council of the Association.

The current (2019-2021) executive committee of the Barvida was elected in the biennial election held on July 26, 2019 and took charge of the association on August 5 of the year, the press release added.

Since taking office, Anwar Sadat has been disrespecting the esteemed members of the council through various activities.

He has also been providing untrue, imaginary and objective information related to the activities of Barvida in various print and electronic media.

For all such activities of Anwar Sadat, the president of the Association Abdul Haque sent him a show cause notice on May 13 this year.

But he responded to the notice on May 15 in a very arrogant and offensive language which is against the discipline and constitution of the organisation, read the statement.

Later, a virtual meeting was held on July 26 where 21 members of the 25-member committee participated in the meeting.

During the discussion, the council agreed that the attitude and activities of Anwar Sadat, the 1st vice president of the organisation, were against the discipline and interests of the organisation.

For the misconduct of SM Anwar Sadat and the unsatisfactory response to the notice sent to him by Barvida president, the association decided to suspend him, the press release added.
