UCBD campus to corporate dialogue brings industry experts to academia

Universal College Bangladesh (UCBD) has launched a new initiative, 'Campus to Corporate,' to bridge the gap between industry and academia.
Arif Khan, Vice Chairman, Shanta Asset Management, conducted the first dialogue session at the UCBD campus in Gulshan Avenue, Dhaka.
Arif Khan gave an exciting and informative presentation titled 'The Bangladesh Financial System – Interactions Between Money Markets and Capital Markets.' Drawing on his broad experience, he shared invaluable insights into Bangladesh's financial landscape and how it compares with South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation peer nations. He discussed the condition of the Bangladesh banking sector and equity market, outlining the challenges facing local companies seeking to raise capital for expansion.
Arif Khan also explored the many significant changes in global finance and how Bangladesh may successfully become a developed economy. His speech ended with a question-and-answer session moderated by Dewan Muhammad Nur–A Yazdani, Senior Lecturer at Universal College Bangladesh. Students asked numerous questions, ranging from Bangladeshi banks to international loans to digital currencies like Bitcoin.
Arif Khan, Vice Chairman of Shanta Asset Management, stated, "It is essential for students to understand both the theory and practical forces that shape our markets. The UCBD Campus to Corporate program is a great initiative that introduces students to the professional realities of business and how their learning can be applied in the real world. I am delighted to be given the chance to share my experience with such promising and curious minds."
The UCBD 'Campus to Corporate' dialogue will continue to bring industry leaders to share their knowledge with students enrolled in UCBD's international qualifications. Professor Hew Gill, President of Universal College Bangladesh, said, "A key part of our Australian and UK qualifications is for our students to get practical experience of how their knowledge and skills are applied in the real world. Our Corporate to Campus dialogue sessions will help our students develop their understanding and start building the business networks that will lead to career success.".
UCBD would welcome presentations from entrepreneurs, business owners, and professionals across Bangladesh and urged anyone interested in sharing their expertise in the 'Campus to Corporate' dialogue.
