Huawei attains bKash partner excellence award for the fifth time

Huawei has received the bKash Partner Excellence Award for the fifth time as a symbol of trust for supporting bKash in bringing sustainable economic development and building a cashless society for Bangladesh.

Zhou Xiaofeng (Tim), Vice President of Carrier Network Business Group of Huawei South Asia; Du CongCong (David), Account Director (AD) from Huawei South Asia, received the award from Moinuddin Mohammed Rahgir, Chief Financial Officer; and Mohammad Rashedul Alam, EVP and Head of Supply Chain, Procurement of bKash in an award ceremony.

Huawei and bKash have worked together through a strategic technology partnership since 2017. Currently, Huawei provides technical support in addition to hardware and software. Under this, Huawei has offered various financial services, including mobile money solutions. For the past few years, bKash has been presenting this ''Partner Excellence Award'' to recognise the role of its partners in its progress. The award recognises the professionalism with which Huawei has worked with bKash over the past year.

Moinuddin Mohammed Rahgir, Chief Technology Officer of bKash, said, "Financial inclusion and inclusive services have been the top priority of bKash from the beginning. To achieve our goal, we need to use top-quality solutions to ensure our service for our users. Collaborating with a leading global ICT infrastructure and solution provider, Huawei has been helping us deliver the desired quality. We appreciate Huawei's effort in being such a dedicated partner to our journey over the years, equipping us with cutting-edge technology that enables us to ensure the best for our customers."

Zhou Xiaofeng (Tim)said, "Since the development of the current FinTech products, Huawei has deployed its platform across more than 60 markets in Asia and Africa. In total, Huawei's FinTech solutions are used by over 410 million people worldwide, including Bangladesh. Huawei is always looking for opportunities to contribute significantly to the development of Bangladesh's ICT ecosystem. We cherish the journey with bKash with this broader perspective. Together, we can ensure a collective growth not only limited to business but will benefit cross-sections of people."
The two institutions signed a memorandum of understanding in 2023 to accelerate financial inclusion and bring more people in the country into the digital economy. This further strengthens the cooperation between bKash and Huawei.

Recently, Huawei and bKash won the GLOMO Best Fintech Innovation Award in MWC 2025 for their digital loan solution, ''Pay Later''. This service provides short-term microloans to unbanked users in Bangladesh, addressing the issue of high-interest informal lenders and limited access to formal banking services.
