Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad’s physical condition is stable, but the doctors at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) have advised against shifting him abroad for hospital care at this time.

“He is feeling drowsy as a reaction to the medication”, Ershad's brother GM Quader said in a briefing Monday afternoon.

"He opened his eyes and tried to speak to Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader who came to visit him," Quader added.

GM Quader also urged all not to spread rumours over the health condition of Ershad.

Ershad, a former military ruler, was admitted to the CMH on Wednesday morning as his condition deteriorated.

The 89-year-old former military ruler has been suffering from various old age complications, including low haemoglobin and liver problem, high bilirubin and serious knee pain.
