Shana scored 671 to finish 2nd in the qualifiers among 38 archers and reached the round 16 of eliminators.

Asia Cup Archery: Shana clinches silver in qualification round

Bangladeshi archer Mohammad Ruman Shana clinched silver in the qualification round of men's Recurve singles at the ongoing Asia Cup-World Ranking Archery Tournament (Stage-3) at the Clark City in Philippines on Tuesday.

Shana scored 671 to finish 2nd in the qualifiers among 38 archers and reached the round 16 of eliminators.

Among others, Tamimul Islam scored 644 to finish 20th and Hakim Ahmed Rubel scored 642 to finish 21st in the qualification round.

In round 16, Tamimul will compete against Guan-Jhong Huang of Chinese Taipei and Rubel will compete against Witthaya Thamwong of Thailand on Wednesday.  

In women's Recurve singles, Beauty Roy scored 623 to finish 14th among 27 arches in the qualification round.

Beauty will play against Nur Afisa Abdul Halil of Malaysia in the round 16 of eliminators at the same venue on Wednesday.

In the men's Recurve team, Bangladesh team consisting Shana, Tamimul and Rubel scored a total of 1,957 to finish 4th among nine teams in the qualification round.

Bangladesh team will now take on Witthaya Thamwong, Tanapat Pathairat and Denchai Thepna of Thailand in the quarterfinal of men's team event on Thursday.

In the Recurve mixed team, Bangladesh team of Shana and Beauty scored 1,294 to finish 4th among eight teams the qualification round.  

Shana and Beauty will face Waraporn Phutdee and Witthaya Thamwong of Thailand in the quarterfinal of mixed team event on Thursday.
